Open Question: What to do on a long car ride?

Next weekend me and my family are going to Disney World and Universal Studios, and we're driving. We are in New York so it will probably take about 20 hours. I'm going to bring some books and my Ipod but what else should I bring with me? What should I do to keep me busy without getting car sick? Thanks! And sorry about the category, I wasn't sure which to put it in.

Resolved Question: Do you think she cheated on me?

i saw her last week and just turned my head as i was listenin to music. I just got this weird feeling that made my stomach turn like she was bad news. I just remember my x would always talk bout her x n how he was so perfect n that he was in the marines or the guy who spent the night at her place a few times would constantly call her...shed tell me how so many guys wanted to be with her but she chose me...it seems like every girl i talk to doesn't want to hang or give me their number bc their bf wouldn't like that....my x would let this guy stay the night even tho i didn't like it. My pal knows the guy who spent the night at her place and claims he is gay. I don't know why i stayed in that relationship so long, mb because i was blinded by her beauty but i felt she was super controlling me not letting me hang with my friends or talk to any girls bc she would receive depressed. I guess i tried to difficult or she didn't adore me enough bc i tried so difficult to make things work but she wouldn't look things my way and was really stubborn. I asked her out w/ flowers at her doorstep to take me back and was goin to again w/ a nice dinner/desert and watch 1st movie we saw together but she found someone else. I remember we held hands at disney world and kissed on my birthday then again on her birthday..I feel like ted mosby and sleepy of waiting for the one but apparently she's coming here to me as quick as she can..

Resolved Question: I Miss Disney... PLEASE READ?

Two years ago I went to Disney World (in Florida) and it was so difficult for me to go. I go every year over a vacation with my older sister, mom, dad, and younger brother, and I wish I didn't have to go home. Well, when I was leaving Disney two years ago, I was pulling out, and I could look the sign (like a road sign) and (I know this may sound pathetic and babyish) I blew it a kiss and promised I would be back next year. A YEAR LATER I was on a Disney Cruise, not in Disney World... I was heartbroken. THIS YEAR I was watching Disney Channel with my younger brother and I saw that "Good Life" commercial in Disney World. It made me think I was growing up too quick, and every I want is to go back and have fun. I don't know. Has anyone else gone through this? Can someone help me. I think I am growing up too quick, but I want to slow down and have that family time. We booked Disney already for this year, but I am going so far away. I just want to slow down. HAS ANYONE ELSE EVER FELT LIKE THIS? HELP!!!

Open Question: Which coast is richer....?

East or West in the United States. The west coast contains California, Oregon and Washington. California is the most populous state and is expensive to live there because everyone wants to live there. Seattle, WA is a very business friendly city and has a lot of wealthy people living there it came in at number 5 for most business friendly city and number 10 for cities with the most richest people. Oregon is much cheaper and came in 27th richest state. The east coast has more states than the west coast. Manhattan is the most expensive city to live in the nation but the relax of New York is much more affordable. Boston and Jersey is also wealthy places. Florida contains Disney World in Orlando as well as Universal Studios which attracts many tourist annually. Miami is also a disarable place to live in similar to California.

Open Question: Disney World vacation, to go..or not to go?

The answer to this may be obvious to most, but I'm not sure if we should go or not because we have 2 daughters, ages 3(almost 4) and 1. We are not sure if they will be able to do much, or if it will be worth going & spending thousands of dollars if they won't remember it. Any tips from parents of young kids that have went on a vacation or to Disney world would be so greatly appreciated! Also, we were trying to think of going somewhere not quite as far away as Disney world this year & maybe Disney world next year if we do put it off.

Resolved Question: Who doesn't like Valentine's Day? and Why?

[when i say women, i don't mean everyone, just the ones i've arrive in to contact with] Valentine's Day was supposed to be a day for adore right? Then why is it that it has become a day for women to expect gifts from men, and men receive nothing in return? And please. Sex is NOT a gift. Giving your gf/wife a gift, and expecting sex is the same transaction they have in a whore home. Any guy with about $100 can receive sex. Sex is "adore-making" both men and women share. Ads like these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWrJgFjxl… ruin the idea of valentine's day! If you're giving your bf/husband sex for presents, you're being a prostitute. The unfortunate thing is many women find this day SO special, when it's really not. Your bf/husband should adore you spontaneously. Why do women value their relationships on such material objects on Valentine's Day? Women complain that men aren't romantic, I understand that men have to initiate the romance, but why do women expect SO much from men and do NOTHING of the same value in return? Women go on and on about what their perfect guy would be, and what he would do. But they never say what THEY will do for the guy. Why do they think that just because they're women, they're automatically perfect? Why do women take chick-flicks seriously? Why do they base romance off what the media portrays? "he has to do what Edward did" or "I want him do with Noah did from the Notebook". These are fictional characters, in a fictional story. I feel that these women haven't grown up since they were little girls, and still expect a Disney Princess story. Why is it so one sided? In a world where women and men are supposed to be treated as equals, why do men let women walk over them? Women want the best of both worlds, and it's disgusting. They claim chivalry is dead, but women are the ones who killed it. Women have to pick to either be an equal to men, or be the traditional lady. You can't be both. Feminism has become twisted, and men should take the stand now. I'm appalled at women who are entitled to every these material things, JUST because they're women. As if men don't like to receive gifts? My ex-girlfriend and I never celebrated valentine's day, it was just a normal day. But the women i'm meeting now are so shallow. Is it really so tough to find a lady who actually believes in equality?

Resolved Question: Anyone ever feel overwhelmed by this world?

I mean there's always so much going on. So much possibility. Need to make money usually. Relationships with people. No certainty about the world. Nostalgia. Music. Politics. Ahhhhh. I'm half joking but sometimes when I think about the workd everything just seems so crazy but honestly I'm glad to be alive, it is crazy though how the world is. I'll also admit I think I adore escaping. I was just watching a video of an old Disney World Submarine Ride and it made me feel very nostalgic. I am 23 for the record. :)

Open Question: Disney park merchandise question?

I'm trying to receive a handle on the current value of a Walt Disney World collectible. It is a scale reproduction of a horse from Cinderella's Golden Carousel. These were available to purchase for $250 in the park in the early 90's. The horse is suspended on a vertical metal pole topped with a metal sphere. The pole is mounted on a wood plinth bearing a brass plaque which describes the horse as an authentic reproduction of an outer row PTC from Cinderellas Golden Carousel at Walt Disney World - 4th of a series. The copyright is engraved on the horse as "Disney [copyright symbol] 90" The horse also bears the number 7, which I'm not sure if that's "7 of..." in the limited edition or if that particular horse holds position 7 on the carousel itself. At any rate, I've entered dozens of different search parameters on Google and arrive up with no reference to these collectibles whatsoever. Can someone help with a ballpark value or at least recommend a resource where I can do further research? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Open Question: Does Walt Disney World actually hire from outside the Company? They post jobs that stay open for months.?

Some of the jobs posted have been listed since August and are still open. Is there some nice of trick to receive HR to look at an application or do they just post these positions for some type of PR? I have applied, and am qualified for the role, but after 8 weeks, it shows that my paperwork is still "pending review". This is the same thing that it showed on the day it was submitted. In reality, do you need to know someone on the inside, or have a cast member referral card to even have your paperwork receive a second look? They will tell you nothing when you go by or call casting, except that they will keep your paperwork for 6 months, and if something comes up that you're qualified for, they will be in touch. There has to be a secret to getting a recruiter to look at this.

Resolved Question: should all millionaires host poor families?

let me explain. I know it would be asking them to spend a few bux, but, wouldn't it be really really nice if each multimillionaire, or billionaire to take a family or two to disney world. Especially a broken family like mine. If they helped one broken family or extra needy family to take a trip even just once to look what it's like to like life without worry, wouldn't that give them a kudos point in Gods book and make a family who can't afford it really glad for once. (which is very rare for some of us due to extreme circumstances) Now I know wealthy people have earned every penny (except those who it was handed to them by their parents) and they have every right to keep every penny too. I won't say they don't. I'm just saying if I were in their shoes I would be more generous with my millions, but not with just my friends. I would seek out a struggling family and give them something they cannot afford and may never have. Like a new car, a tiny home to live in that's theirs, a trip somewhere they could never afford. things that wouldn't even put a dent in their lifestyle but would change the lives of us who have never had those things. don't assume to know me by my questions or answers on here frank. that makes you very shallow and blind. no not trying to make a law. maybe a tax trade that would be a way to figure it into the world without too much argument. no animal it wouldn't be different. I am not needy, yet I am not wealthy by any means. However, I have spent my last dollar to help people on the road many many many times. I have taken homeless people out to eat, taken them to bars, given them a place to receive clean and stay on really icy nights.

Open Question: What would Disney's Rapunzel's personality be like in real life?

Okay, so in the movie Tangled, Rapunzel is stolen away as an baby and locked in a tower for 18 years. The only human she's interacted with is her mom who fills her head with stories about how horrible the outside world and everyone in it is. Of course Rapunzel ends up being very smart and has excellent social skills. She falls for the first male human she's ever seen (really?). She manages to win over a bunch of blood-thirsty bandits by talking about her feelings, and she fits right in with an entire kingdom of people. So here's my question: "If a child is raised like Rapunzel in real life, what would their personality really be like and how would they really fit in if suddenly re-introduced to society and other people?"

Resolved Question: Foundations like Make A Wish?

Hi, first of every SORRY FOR THE LENGTH! QUESTION: Is there a foundation like Make A Wish that allows kids to wish for something even if another foundation has granted a wish for them before? STORY: My daughter is now 11 years old. She was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma when she was just 3 years old. By the time of diagnosis she had metastasis in her bone marrow. After 3 years of chemo, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant, she was declared cancer free. During her journey, she faced MANY obstacles - severe infections were our main problems. We started contacting Make A Wish about a month after the cancer was gone. We had set up to meet with them, but before we even met, Bri was hospitalized with an infection, worse than any we had experienced before! She went into septic shock and went into cardiac arrest. It was the worst and scariest days of our lives! They told us to be prepared, and they asked if we had planned any funeral arrangements. The word "funeral" hit me like brick! I never thought that I would have to plan a funeral for my 6 year old. Well, I didn't have to! They gave her a 50% chance to bounce back and she was in the positive side of that 50% She was very weak and now had pretty bad damage to her heart. We were in the hospital for a little over a month and the doctors kept telling us that at any moment, her heart could give out and she could die or any "little" thing - like another infection - could knock her out for sure this time. During this time, we decided to contact MAW. We wanted her to have a chance of making a wish. She was robbed of her whole childhood and never did anything a normal child did. She never got to go to school, never got to make real friends, never played on the playground without having to be extra careful. Since she was so fragile, we couldn't go on a trip or anything, but she never asked for it anyways. Her wish was to go on a Toys R Us shopping spree. A limo picked her up and took her to buy every the toys she wanted! I couldn't cease crying the whole time! I had never seen her so glad! After her wish, she began to receive stronger and stronger; unfortunately, it didn't last long. About a month after turning 8, she relapsed. She didn't even have time to like life because while she was cancer free, she had to deal with her heart now! This time, it had spread to her liver and lymph nodes. I had just given birth to her little brother who is now 3 1/2 years old. My brave girl will not go down without a battle! She's been fighting this time for almost 4 years! every of this is chemo is much more risky now because of her heart, so we've been pretty much hospitalized constantly for the past almost 4 years. Her birthday is coming up in April, and she want to go to Disney World. She's still not cancer free, but doctors tell us not to give up. We really cannot afford it, but we want to make her 12th birthday special. I know it's not fair to double wish, but I feel like if he's had been stable and hadn't gone through those problems when she made her wish, she would have wanted to go on a trip. She loves the Disney princesses and she tells us that if she could make another wish, she would wish to spend her birthday with Cinderella and sing glad birthday in the castle(she spends most of her hospital days looking at the Disney website, so she knows about the restaurant in the castle). I want to look the same light in her eyes I saw that time when she was 6. She's been battling every of this for almost 9 years! We've almost lost her more times than we can count. I had to cease working when she was first diagnosed to take care of her and we live off of my husbands teaching salary(he's a high school math teacher). We live in a two bedroom apartment and barely fit there! We're struggling to pay that! Is there another foundation that can grant her a wish? I wish I could just cease paying everything and it'll every be worth it to make her wish arrive true! She's so strong and I don't know what to do anymore. She has to be on oxygen 24/7 because of her heart. I'm scared for her. Is there another wish foundation I can contact?

Open Question: Kids earning their way to Disney World?

My kids really really want to go to Disney World, so as a family we created this really chilly craft to sell to earn our way there. We started a little modest website. The problem is, we can not find a way to receive the word out about it. The Disney discussion forums out there will strictly not let us talk about it, Craigslist does not allow it, etc. We are just trying to earn our way, so of course we cannot afford advertising. We are not even a "real business." Any Ideas? By the way, our website is www.maxandjuliacrafts.com. We would be grateful for advice.

Open Question: i've been having a series of dreams i believe could be linked?

im 15 and usually a very lucid dreamer but i felt like i had no control here 1.im in a cafe and i walk towards this window to look out side and maybe try to look if i could recognize where I was. Then i look out side to the left and I look these two buildings that i felt stood out some how, then the first building blew up at the bottom. I quickly turned around and i saw this odd lady. she looked like she was in her 20's but the white areas of her eyes were red and her pupils were incredibly big. she smiled at me and put her finger over her lips and said"shh don't tell anyone". and after that a rod of light showed up out of no where in my hand, and the next thing i know im being chased by people who look exactly the same. 2. Im running with other people my age through this place that looks like a cross between disney world and some nice of urban town. there are crowds of people everywhere looking at fireworks...in daylight(why? i don't know)but anyway we found our selves being chased by the people who look same(let's just call them "faces"). we were chased by the faces through out the town and no one seemed to look any of this. then we lost them but were quickly discovered by one of the faces. he held a gun up to us and then that's when the light showed up again. the face stared at it and so did i. he ran towards it and seeming that he wanted it more than me i quickly took it from him(i assumed it was something important). I told him to leave us alone or i'll break it. he laughed and said"go ahead be my guest". so i did and it just reappeared in another spot. i grabbed it again then he grabbed one of the people that i was with, it was a girl and a boy who were following me. he held on to the girl with a gun to her head....so first instinct hit me. i threw the light at his head and kill him.the light shattered when it made contact with him and it reappeared in my hand. so we ran back to the middle of the town before any more faces showed up. when we got back there were these meteors falling from the sky, and a voice said"there wiping out the population to start over again". 3. this was the most recent one i had. i was in a facility and there were more faces. i was looking for the people that were with me in the 2nd dream but i only found the guy not the girl. i asked him if he knew where she was, and every he said was"they got rid of her". so we ran out to what looked like an airport run way, but i could look armies of faces every were and they were every armed with different flame arms. then the voice spoke again"there are times where we have to take action quickly" and i began to move faster til i ran through them and i kept running. while i ran i saw a rocket heading toward me and the voice said"when in need you'll always have someone by your side"and the guy i was with in the beginning showed out of now where and threw me out of the way of the rocket. another army of faces were ahead and they every opened flame on me then the voice spoke again" there are also time when you should slow down and just live life" and then everything slowed down and every of the bullets hit me and time froze. then i was surrounded by light and the voice spoke one last time saying"now it's time we start every over again...just you and me". and then i was 5 yrs old again and in my room drawing in a sketchbook i remember receiving from a close pal.

Resolved Question: Souvenir money for universal and disneyworld ?

So I'm going to universal for 2 days and Disney for 5 and I'm wondering how much money I should bring! I'm thinking 100 if I'm getting a wand and new uniform from the wizarding world of Harry potter and I'm gonna receive a shirt or animal from Disney. Anyone no the prices for wands and the usually price for shirts or stuffed animals at Disney? I'm going in November which gives me a good amount of time to receive more money, I'm just sooo excited (I'm 15 lol)

Open Question: Make A Wish Foundation?

Hello everyone, My name is Ashley. I'm 19 years old. I was diagnosed with a tumor in my spine that is to risky to remove. That's the new thing! I was diagnosed with Petit Mal Epilepsy when I was 4. I stopped having Petit mal seizures when I was 8. Even though I've been seizure free and haven't gone to my neurologist for my epilepsy since around age 10, I still have high sensitivity to lights(specially flashing ones) and I live everyday with constant headaches(and back aches, but now I know why). My brother also has Epilepsy/Autism. He's 14 and he made a wish at age 9 with the MAW foundation. We went on a cruise. I want to make a wish, and I would qualify, but I believe I've ran out of time :( The age limit is 18. I never did it before because I felt that making a wish while having such a tiny problem(Epilepsy that I never even spoke about because it was so long ago) would be taking up another kids chance, and maybe one who deserved it more than me! But now that I have this too, I feel like I would like to do it, and I do qualify, just maybe not by the age now :/ every I want is to go to Disney World and maybe stay at Give Kids the World (which I also think has an age limit to 18....sigh). Do you think make a wish makes exceptions? I turned 19 3 weeks ago and was diagnosed 2 weeks ago!!!! Grrr! Barely made it. If they don't, does anyone know if they can help me find a wish foundation for kids my age. I'm 19, but if you look at me you'd think I'm 14! Trust me..... I've met 13 year olds that look older than me! lol What should I do? I know I qualify, but do YOU think I do?

Open Question: Do Disney World resorts offer free breakfast?

My boyfriend and I will be staying at the Disney World every Star Movie Resort in a couple weeks, and I'm trying to figure out some of this dining stuff. None of the dining plans mention breakfast, and I can't figure out if that's because they expect you to pay for the fanciest dining plan to receive meals every day, or if there's some sort of continental breakfast. Thanks!

Resolved Question: Disney World's Contemporary Q & A?

Hey guys! So I am super excited to have booked my Disney trip this year for August 20. I've stayed at an handful of Disney World resorts, so I wanted to stay somewhere different this time. Because of the location, the transportation, and the decor, I chose the Contemporary. Luckily, we received an awesome exclusive deal from Disney, as well as one from our travel agent. We booked the room with the least expensive price-per-night available and were given the Garden Wing Garden View room. After taking a look at the resort map, I was a little disappointed to know we would be staying in a separate, three story building behind the Contemporary tower itself. My question is: If you have stayed at Contemporary before, what are your thoughts? How would you rate it against other Deluxe resorts or Moderate and Value resorts you've stayed at? Also, have you stayed in a Garden Wing room or no anything about the difference between these rooms and the rooms in the main building? Thank you!
